		<description>I had one of my grade 11 students tell me that in grade three he found out he was gifted and in grade four he found out he was &quot;stupid&quot;- LD. This student was really conflicted and had difficulty coming to terms with the fact that he should be able to do well,  yet had so much difficulty in school. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He felt that being gifted was a curse of some sort because everyone expected so much of him.</description>

		<description>You are on target.  I emphasize your #2 - asynchronous development - in every workshop I do, whether with parents or teachers.  I think it helps explain the difference between high achievers and gifted kids to folks.</description>
